How it works

Drop your files

Drag files into the box or tap to choose them. Big files upload in chunks, so a hiccup won't restart everything.

Get a link

Copy the link and send it anywhere: chat, email, text. Or let us email it for you.

They download

No app and no account for the person receiving. The file is deleted automatically later.

Too big for email?

Most email services cap attachments at around 20–25 MB: Gmail and Yahoo Mail at 25 MB, Outlook at 20 MB. A few minutes of phone video, a folder of RAW photos or a design export blows past that straight away.

File2Share sidesteps the limit: upload the file once (up to 50 GB) and send a link instead of an attachment. The recipient opens it in any browser and downloads the original file, with no compression and no account. Sending lots of files? Put them in a ZIP first so they arrive as one download. See how to send large files without email limits for more options.

Work in a terminal?

Upload from any server, laptop or CI job with one command. No API key.

Questions

Do I need an account?

No. Drop your files and you get a link straight away. An account is only useful if you want to see your past transfers.

How big can my files be?

Up to 50 GB per file and 10 files per transfer.

How long are files kept?

14 days, then they are deleted automatically. Under Options you can make a link expire sooner, from 1 hour to 1 week.

Who can download my files?

Anyone who has the link. Links use a random ID and are not listed or indexed by search engines. Under Options you can also require a password.

Are my files encrypted?

Uploads and downloads travel over HTTPS, so they are encrypted in transit. Files are not encrypted on our servers, so for sensitive documents put them in a password-protected archive (for example 7-Zip with AES-256) before uploading.

Is it really free?

Yes. File2Share is supported by ads on the download page.
